Now at least we non-writers can see what drives the writer. Thank you for sharing. I would hope you finf dritical success or perhaps monetary success from your efforts, but if you dont I hope we can fuind a way to get intoo your characters and your mind. If you need to dream it and then write it, please go ahead and go for it! People will find your characters in time (perhaops not just your time). Everything has IT'S Time!

Comment on WRITING: Choice or Obsession?

Unortunately, it's a lost craft in today's world. For example, texting; we now look to shorten a 3-5 letter word into a 1-2 letter expression. And punctuiation,- and spellin write, that's way too much to handle.

Comment on WRITING: Choice or Obsession?

Very interesting view point! I used to wonder how people could write for hours upon hours and still be engaged. I guess i now have my answer :)

Comment on WRITING: Choice or Obsession?

It definitely is a mixed blessing. I think writing is "lonely" not just because you do it alone but also because very few other people understand its importance in your life. They think it's a fun hobby, or else that you're doing it in hopes of becoming rich and famous. That's why I belong to several other writer's organizations--and even then, I find only a few of the members really have the fever. Like you, I tried to quit a little over 10 years ago, after many rejections. Couldn't do it. Interestingly, right after I decided that I would continue to write my novels even if I never got them published, I received my first acceptance! I probably never will become rich or famous, but I will continue to write. Very simply, it's the way I respond to life.

Comment on Not All Wolves are Wily; Not All Pirates Plunder

Interesting post! Checked out the website and WPP seems to have a great concept. Hopefully more writers and editors will let go of their suspicions long enough to see the benefits.

Comment on Not All Wolves are Wily; Not All Pirates Plunder

Ann,

Thank you ... I love the writing of JM... I wonder whatever happened to his childhood freind. DO you think he reads JM's zombie stuff? ... doubt it!
It would be cool to hang out and hear some horror stories from back them though. Good interview ANN!

Comment on INTERVIEW WITH A ZOMBIE (enthusiast)

Great job on the interview Ann and Jonathan. Live your own dream - indeed. Its a struggle to not want to follow what others are doing, thinking THEY have obtained the American Dream and why can't you? Once I fully grasped the fact that my road is different from everyone elses and that's ok - I started living my own dream. American Dream? No. DIY Dream, yes!
